Direct Push Drilling

Direct Push Drilling Services

Advanced Subsurface Investigation & In-Situ Remediation
PINTER offers direct push investigation and remediation services using a specialized direct push drill rig. This equipment enables rapid, cost-effective, and low-disturbance solutions for environmental, geotechnical, and remediation projects.

Key Advantages
  • Minimal site disturbance
  • No auger cuttings to dispose
  • Small footprint for limited access areas
  • Rapid data acquisition and sample turnaround
  • Cost-effective solution for targeted investigations and injections

Service Areas
Environmental Site Investigations
  • Electrical Conductivity (EC) Logging: Identify salt and fertilizer contamination, map stratigraphy in real-time, and guide well placement.
  • Soil Core Sampling: Collect discrete or continuous cores with minimal cross-contamination for screening and lab analysis.
  • Groundwater Sampling (No Wells Needed): Collect groundwater samples using SP16 stainless steel screen system without permanent well installation.

Environmental Remediation & Monitoring
  • In-Situ Injection of Amendments: Inject compounds such as oxygen release agents using high-pressure grout pump for subsurface remediation.
  • Monitoring Well Installation: Install small-diameter environmental monitoring wells.
  • Salt Impact Assessment: Use EC probe to investigate salt contamination across impacted areas.

Geotechnical Investigations
  • Cone Penetrometer Testing (CPTu): Determine stratigraphy and measure geotechnical parameters including tip resistance, sleeve friction, pore pressure, and hydraulic conductivity—all in real-time with cordless data transmission.
  • Piezometer Installation: Install electronic transducers, standpipes, and flush-mount piezometers for groundwater monitoring.
  • Soil Sampling for Lab Testing: Obtain clean cores for grain size, Atterberg limits, and other geotechnical lab analyses.

Specialized Tools & Technology
Electrical Conductivity (EC) Probe
  • Real-time logging of soil stratigraphy
  • Detects fine vs coarse materials based on conductivity
  • Identifies salt and fertilizer contamination zones
  • Assists in well placement and delineating impacted zones
Soil Core Sampling Systems
  • Continuous Core: 4.5 cm diameter x 1.5 m length
  • Discrete Core: 2.5 cm diameter x 56 cm length
  • Piston and o-ring seals prevent cross-contamination
  • Ideal for field screening and lab submission
Groundwater Sampling Tool
  • No monitoring well installation required
  • Ideal for inaccessible locations (e.g., beneath buildings)
  • Sealed with grout or bentonite upon completion
Injection Tools
  • High-pressure GS-2000 pump (up to 1800 psi)
  • Pressure-activated valves for precise zone targeting
  • Supports both retraction and insertion injection techniques
Cordless CPTu Probe
  • Transmits real-time geotechnical data without internal rods
  • Measures: tip resistance, sleeve friction, pore pressure
  • Defines soft zones, relative density, and more
  • Ideal for dams, embankments, and stratigraphy delineation
Access & Site Sensitivity
Limited Access Capability
  • Only 4.2 m overhead and 2.8 m horizontal clearance required
  • Operates in:
    • Alleyways
    • Indoors
    • Beneath canopies and utilities
    • Roadway shoulders
Environmentally Sensitive Sites
  • Ideal for:
    • Active industrial sites
    • Sensitive receptor areas
    • Roadside or business-front investigations
  • Virtually eliminates cuttings, reducing disposal and cleanup costs
